Our principles
These six principles decide how we build, price and run everything we make. If you think we’ve fallen short of one, tell us at hello@quietfield.dev.

You own your data
What you create or keep in our software belongs to you. It lives on your own device unless you choose otherwise, you can export it in open formats, and if we ever hold any of it, we delete it when you ask.
Private by default
Our products don’t track you or show third-party ads, and they don’t collect usage data unless you turn that on. Any feature that goes online says so plainly, stays off until you switch it on, and sends only what it needs. We never sell or rent personal data.
No predatory design
We don’t use dark patterns, pressure timers, artificial scarcity, loot boxes or pay-to-win. We don’t design anything to hold your attention at your own expense.
Honest pricing
You see the full price before you buy. A subscription is as easy to cancel as it was to start. Features you paid for stay, unless the law or a security problem forces a change.
Open source where we can
We publish our source code under open licenses where it’s practical, respect the licenses of the work we build on, and send fixes back to the projects we use.
Plain language and accessibility
We explain our products, policies and changes in plain words, and we work to make everything we build usable by people with disabilities.
